Microsoft has announced the retirement of Skype for Business Online on July 31, 2021, meaning, Skype Business Online will not be available after the said date. However, until July 31st, there will be no change in the service.

What will replace Skype Business Online?

The answer is, Teams! Teams will replace Skype Business Online for chat, meetings and calling. Microsoft had already started onboarding all-new Office 365 customers directly to Teams since September 1, 2019.

Skype Consumer service and Skype for Business Server will continue as it is.
